Real Estate Agent Bubble Still Growing

From the Sacramento Business Journal:

Nearly 500,000 people hold real estate licenses in California -- the most ever -- the California Department of Real Estate reported Tuesday. That equates to one real estate licensee for every 52 adults. In 2005, the number of real estate licensees soared to a record of more than 476,000, up 14 percent from the previous year and a 57 percent increase over five years ago. As of April, the trend continued with the number of licensees climbing to 495,000.

In Pismo Beach and the Five Cities (Grover, Arroyo Grande, Nipomo, Pismo, and Haylcyon) there are about 1000 dues paying members at present. In 1995 there were 250. What does that tell you. The bubble is here.

If the realtors just got organized and sold houses to each other they could sustain themselves off the equity increases and perpetuate this travisty for a few more years.
Oh wait the speculaors already did that. Sorry.
