Sacramento Bee: Record Inventory

From the Sacramento Bee:

The number of for-sale signs at existing homes reached a record 15,566 in El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo counties, according to Sacramento-based TrendGraphix. Factor in 4,899 new and yet-to-be-sold homes reported by area builders in June and it pushes the total number of area houses for sale past 20,000.
Previous high: 15,474 (July 2006)
1990s high: 13,507 (April 1992)

Here's what readers think is in store for next year:

HAAHAHAHAHAHA!

I also seem to recall that Sippn called bottom several months ago..He said when people received builder incentives or price cuts they were "finding the bottom".

Keep 'em coming Sippn, cos your predictions are always entertaining. And if you wish really hard maybe those homes you are trying to flip will turn a profit someday.

Curious how they arrived at this number. I searched MLS 5 mins ago and came up with 18,029 listings.

Too funny, but how come Sac Real Stats shows inventory 1000 below last year's high? I don't know who to believe.
